Meath comes from the Irish An Mhí - the middle. In Boyne Valley are Newgrange, Knowth and Dowth with lots of Neolithic tombs and monuments. The Book of Kells in Trinity College came from Kells in County Meath. The Hill of Tara in Meath was the seat of the High Kings. Trim Castle was the location of the film Braveheart.
